Jamiela was honoured to be a guest speaker at the ADHD WA Conference 2024, themed “Pills Don’t Teach Skills.”
Her talk delved into the neuroscience of ADHD and organisation, emphasising the role of neuroplasticity in strengthening the ADHD brain. She explored evidence-based psychological strategies to enhance organisational skills, including mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral techniques, growth mindset development, and the power of self-compassion and self-acceptance.

Presentation - Intersection of complex trauma & ADHD - ADHD WA Community of Professionals - 2024
The insightful and thought-provoking presentation provided an overview of ADHD and complex trauma, introducing key therapeutic approaches such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Schema Therapy, and DBR (Deep Brain Reorienting). It explored the benefits and challenges of an integrated treatment approach, offering valuable considerations for managing complex clinical presentations in ADHD and trauma therapy.

Power to Change - Group Therapy Program 2022-2024
Jamiela and her colleague Helen achieved great success in re-establishing and facilitating The Power to Change Program, a 16-week, evidence-based recovery initiative specifically designed for women who have experienced domestic violence. Endorsed by the United Nations, this transformative program provides women with the tools and support they need on their journey to healing and empowerment, helping them reclaim their strength and rebuild their lives. This program was kindly sponsored by Tang Law.
